Lip Contouring and Lip Reconstruction

Lip surgery is usually necessary following tumor excision. In order to ensure the best possible cosmetic and functional results, closure of the tissue defect is accomplished in most cases with local flaps and must be done very accurately.

Desired cosmetic changes in lip contour and volume - usually done to give the lips a more sensual shape - can be accomplished by local injections of stabilized hyaluronic acid. This treatment is done under local anesthesia in the practice. After the treatment, there is usually some swelling for a few days. The effects of hyaluronic acid last for months, the treatment can be repeated.
