Rhinoplasty

The nose as the most central and important facial structure can pose cosmetic and functional problems such as breathing difficulties. These originate from the natural nose anatomy or as a result of an accident or surgery. A face analysis which takes the patient’s personal wishes into consideration and looks at all possible forms of surgical options should be done in all cases. It is not uncommon that further factors which affect the facial harmony are discovered. A computer animation can be helpful in the decision-making.

Surgical change of the nose, called rhinoplasty, is a complex procedure involving the nasal bones and cartilages. Various techniques are used to achieve the desired changes. It is performed under general anesthesia in the hospital. Following rhinoplasty the nose can be slightly swollen for weeks, the end result is seen after months.
